Advanced Anti-spam Module
Add-on for eSafe Gateway and eSafe Mail

Spam is growing rapidly, making anti-spam services more important than ever. It is estimated that over 70% of today's business email is spam. Spam forces ISPs to cope with increasing amounts of email traffic, and the bandwidth of businesses is largely consumed by it, impacting resources and productivity.

eSafe's Advanced Anti-spam module blocks more than 95% of spam with less than 0.5% false positives. eSafe contains enhanced anti-spam, quarantine management, and spam tagging features and is continually updated from the eSafe Data Centre.

eSafe's Advanced Anti-spam Module uses the following technologies:

Black lists - checks if the sending server is in a RBL (Realtime Blackhole List), dial-up or open-relay server list
DNS verification - checks if the sender is using a valid mail server
Keyword blocking - blocks spam according to keywords in subject and body
Anti-spoofing - blocks email masquerading as coming from within the organisation – a common spam technique
Cookies/web beacons - blocks email cookies which help spammers identify the recipient as a "live" email
Header verification - inspects various header signatures and blocks spam
Heuristic analysis - detects and blocks spam based on various email characteristics
Textual analysis - categorizes spam according to textual content like mortgages, pornography, dental care, etc.
Spam signatures - an auto-updating spam database allows detection and blocking of spam according to smart signatures
Spam URL filtering - blocks email with links to spam sources and sponsors
Spam image filtering - blocks email containing spam associated images
Auto-updating database - local or remote spam blocking database based on thousands of Spam collecting bots and web crawlers

Web filtering/URL filtering by category is not just for blocking pornography. Hacker, virus and warez (pirated software and media) sites all contain dangerous or illegal content and pose a serious security threat that can be blocked with the web filtering/URL filtering add-on.

eSafe's URL Filtering Module offers you a security focused web filtering add-on, eliminating threats common to web sites that are usually categorised as unrelated to work.

eSafe uses the largest and most accurate database of classified URLs in the world, with over 20 million entries, 58 categories, and more than 100,000 daily updates.

The next generation of security threats have arrived - Gateway-level malicious code attacks, P2P, Instant Messaging, Spyware and Unauthorised HTTP tunnelling. Unfortunately, the vast majority of existing Internet security solutions fail to inspect and counter these new threats.

eSafe's AppliFilter Module offers you a new technology that can block the following application level threats:

• Gateway-level (TCP/IP) malicious code attacks
• P2P (Peer to Peer) file-sharing such as BitTorrent, KaZaa, iMesh, Gnutella, eDonkey
• Instant Messengers such as ICQ, MSN, AOL, and Yahoo! Messengers
• Adware/spyware components found in many "free" and commercial software
• Unauthorised HTTP tunnelling

• Filtering various malicious Internet content in Real-time as it enters your organisation
