Kaspersky Hosted Web Security
Proactive protection from malware and spyware with web content control
Kaspersky Web Hosted Security Overview
Kaspersky® Hosted Web Security provides protection from IT threats that
penetrate the corporate network via Internet gateways. The service secures
the networks against malicious programs, potentially unwanted programs
and spyware.
The system is deployed by modifying the settings for the proxy server
used on the customer's Internet gateway.
Protection from malware and spyware - the antivirus scanning
system uses industry-leading Kaspersky Lab technologies and antivirus
databases.
Proactive protection - the service incorporates Kaspersky
BitHunt, a proactive malware detection system. It reliably protects
corporate networks from malicious programs for which signatures
have not yet been included in the antivirus databases.
Scanning outgoing traffic - Kaspersky Hosted Web Security
can scan outgoing HTTP/FTP traffic in order to detect spyware activity
and prevent data theft. This function makes it easy for the system
administrator to detect a computer infected with spyware on the
corporate network.
Content control - this function can be used to create
acceptable use policies for Internet access using parameters such
as site types, time of day and users. The system can also block
the downloading of certain data types and restrict access to undesirable
websites.
No additional resources needed - as traffic is filtered
on Kaspersky Lab infrastructure, there is no need to acquire additional
software or hardware, not to update the antivirus databases separately.
Additional Benefits
Real-time scanning of Internet traffic prevents data transmission
delays.
Easy deployment of the service: all it takes is a change to the
proxy settings on the customer's Internet gateway.
Higher productivity ensured by restriction of Internet access.
Kaspersky Web Hosted Security Functionality
Protection from malware and spyware
Kaspersky Anti-Virus - the antivirus databases are updated
hourly, with emergency updates released during malware epidemics. The
services benefits from the Kaspersky Anti-Virus acknowledged high detection
rates and rapid response to new threats. Kaspersky BitHunt provides
proactive protection from unknown malicious and potentially unwanted
programs.
Scanning outgoing traffic - detecting traces of spyware activity
prevents data leakage. This function also makes it easier to find a
computer infected with spyware on the network.
Control over the use of Internet resources
Kaspersky Hosted Web Security helps administrators to manage acceptable
use policies block access to undesirable sites.
Administrators can:
- Restrict employee access to specified Internet resources during
specified time periods.
- Classify websites into 55 categories, including Alcohol, Computer
Games, Erotic/Sex, News, SMS/Ring Tones/Logos, Online Shopping,
etc., to provide maximum flexibility when configuring the access
control system for each company employee.
- Maintain blacklists and whitelists of web resources manually.
- Block users from loading files of different types to their computers,
including:
- executable files (EXE, SYS, DLL etc.)
- Microsoft Office documents (DOC, DOT, XLS, PPT, PPS etc.)
- music files (WAV, RA, MID, etc.)
- video files (AVI, QT, MPG)
- image files (JPG, GIF, BMP, TIFF, PNG).
- Mark the category for each website returned in search results
in Google, MSN and other search engines, as well as whether access
to each of the sites is allowed. This helps reduce the number of
attempts to connect to blocked resources.
- Define quotas for bandwidth and amount of data in bytes that
can be received by each user (depending on the time of day).
Administrative System and Reports
The service is managed via the secure web portal which allows the
administrator to configure all settings and access reports for different
periods (day, week, month or year) with varying levels of detail:
- top 10 viruses detected.
- hour-by-hour reports on blocked adware/spyware/phishing attacks.
- top 10 departments (groups) or users in blocked adware/spyware/phishing
attacks.
- 10 most popular categories.
- top 10 departments (groups) and users by the number of bytes
received/sent.
- top 10 categories of blocked resources.
- a detailed report on the use of the Internet in the company.
- Reports can be automatically generated and sent to an email
address specified by the administrator.
