nTAP 10/100/1000 Copper Network TAP
Monitor full-duplex links up to gigabit speeds
nTAP 10/100/1000 Copper Network TAP Overview
The 10/100/1000 copper nTAP offers a standard Gigabit Ethernet
input connection, a standard Gigabit Ethernet output connection and
a standard gigabit full-duplex analyser connection. This all-in-one
device guarantees scalability as your network grows.
All copper nTAPs replicate the full-duplex signal from the
network, sending one signal to the analyser and the other signal back
to the network. The 10/100/1000 Copper nTAP can support link
speeds up to 2000 Mbps.
As with all nTAPs, the 10/100/1000 copper nTAPs
are passive, full-duplex monitoring devices, offering complete visibility
into your network regardless of traffic levels. By permanently installing
nTAPs, you never need to bring the link down to attach an analyser
or other device. nTAPs work with the leading security and network
management tools, so you can quickly and easily deploy them into your
network.
All copper nTAPs are transparent, which means you can monitor
your critical links without data stream interference. Even if power
to the nTAP fails, copper nTAPs guarantee continuous
network data flow. Copper nTAPs also work well with redundant-enabled
devices. So if one side of the nTAP link should fail, the other
side can take action by signalling the connected device to switch to
a redundant link.
nTAP 10/100/1000 Copper Deployment
Place a 10/100/1000 Copper nTAP between two devices of interest
on a full-duplex copper network at speeds up to 1000 Mbps. To successfully
analyse the full-duplex link, be sure the monitoring device is equipped
with a dual-receive capture card.
